Liberty Sidecars, Seattle WA

I'm sure you guys already know of them, but these fellas make reproduction sidecars, and sidecars for new bikes.

Thanks for that site, Imboden. If eye had a new-model Harley Big Twin, I'd put a Liberty on it. Really looks classic, attached to a Springer! The H-D Co.'s fiberglass "egg," 1968-present, never impressed me. I understand the requirements for compound curves to get rigidity in fiberglass, but it's butt-ugly.

I wouldn't call what Liberty makes a reproduction of anything, tho. They did considerable updating of the engineering, like the 4-point mounting system and the subframe to mount the fender without visible brackets on the outside.
IMHO, they probably make the best sidecar, bang-for-the-buck, for modern Harleys.

Those are very cool. I think when that fellow first went into business he sold Russian sidecars and built some for other makes too. Of course, they were a few thousand cheaper then.
He does great work and I'd sure consider one if I ever wanted a sidecar.

The guy that does their paint, Charley at Tanks Only, also does mine. They are selling well, if Charley's schedule is any indication. I'm having trouble getting my stuff done.

I learned to ride on a 1953 FL with a sidecar. I wasn't big enough to hold up the bike alone yet!!

Liberty Sidecar

I have a 2001 Liberty car on my 1978 FLH, also put on their raked triple tree. The rig travels/steers nice with and without a passenger. Only used ballast when first starting to learn how to drive a rig. Sent a sadlebag cover up to them to match the paint, their painter did a great job . Love the car, have won several awards in shows over the years. Pete builds a car you will be proud of.
