Burned Indian on EBAY

Have you seen the well burned Indian on ebay? It is a shame to see motorcycle in that condition, but things do happen. Has anyone here attempaed to bring a burned motorcycle back to life? If the cases are not melted I would think the lower end would be ok. What about the metal in the frame, and front end, and wheels. will it have lost it's temper? Stan

I lose my temper when I get burned. Can't help it, that's just my nature.

E-bay I starting watching that one too as I'm in need of a '47 frame. figured that one may go cheap but it's already over $2k with 9 more days left on the bidding.

Re: Burned Indian on EBAY

If the frame has been subjected to too much heat it has possibly annealed the steel and it may bend easily.

Re: Burned Indian on EBAY

What a crying shame. Don't know what I'd do if that happened to any of my old motorcycles.

Re: Burned Indian on EBAY

Back in 2002, I left a grease rag under the hood of my 1990 1-ton 4X4 Big Block chevy truck that I had just spent $1300 on new tires and wheels.... I got home went in the house and came back out about 5 minutes later to see flames up 20 feet in the air!..... I grabbed the garden hose while the kids dialed 911. The hose didnt reach all the way to the truck. when the fire dept got there I was climbing in the cab pulling out everything I could salvage while the flames were still 20 feet high. after the fire was out... I just stood there..... and stared....

2-weeks later my back-up vehicle blew up (really over-heated and blew up... melting the pistons to the cylinders) leaving me with nuthin' to drive.

So I went and bought a bike. Best decision ever made.
