Selling my 1971 Harley Shovelhead Cheap

A few years ago I bought this complete and running 1971 Harley Shovelhead as the basis for a project bike in American Iron Magazine but have not gotten around to it. We have enough project bikes now so I am selling this one pretty cheap.

I has fairly new Harley-Davidson Dunlop tires. S&S Super B carb and S&S teardop air cleaner. It is a runner and a rider. It will need a new battery and some cleaning up as there is a little surface rust on the wheels and some trim. Has a factory hinged rear fender. Straight "drag" pipes. Decent paint. Could be a restoration project, the basis for a cool bobber or chopper, or it can be ridden basically as is.

It is a cone Shovel, has electric and kick starter. It is complete and as seen in these photos. The wiring works but some of it should be redone.
We will be listed it on ebay on Sunday (low reserve) but thought I'd post it here too. I will sell this bike and would consider offers over $5,000. Once it meets reserve on ebay I will sell it there. This is an opportunity to buy it right BEFORE it hits reserve on ebay.

This old Harley is at out offices in Stamford, CT. It can be picked up here or you can make arrangements to have it picked up and shipped. We will help if we can on this.

Re: Selling my 1971 Harley Shovelhead Cheap

I sure wish I was closer,
THAT is exactly what I am looking for and in the right price range.

I am still beating my head against the wall for missing one yesterday... $2000 for a 79 Shovel with a blown motor, rod thru the case. I just didnt get there fast enough. Had cash in hand and called the guy back 6 times, no answer. He musta took the very first offer.

Due to some recent bills I just dont have $5k available yet, so I'll hafta just set and watch this one go away too.

Good luck Buzz, someone is gonna be happy.

Thanks for the support on this one, but I wouldn't consider riding this far anywhere near that far in the current condition.

It is a running project bike that you can ride but I wouldn't go far on it as it sits.

Re: Selling my 1971 Harley Shovelhead Cheap

Well, I found a company that can ship reasonable. They even do pick up and deliver door to door.

Daily Direct Zone Route Map

Now I gotta call Dad, on fathers day, and see if I am still his favorite son. I am the ONLY son so I have that going for me.

Last time he loaned me money, I paid him back with intrest.... and early, so my credit should be good.

Buzz
If I am really able to swing this I will let you know, so keep moving forward with your plans.
