DuPont paint

Many years ago, I think in 1994, I bought some small samples of paper with a drop of "original paint" from Harbor vintage cycle. In those years I couldn,t find samples in any other catalog or place. After that in 1996-97 when i got Bruce Palmer,s bible(thanks Bruce), I saw a list of some Dupont formulas for harley davidson paints(remember i was working with my harbors samples collection) and ask to my local expert painter about those references. He told me he has called to the Dupont dealer here in Spain and NOBODY knows something about those references:!!
Are those refences working in USA??, If i want to buy in USA Flight red, I,ll have to order B194-2097 99-20978R to Dupont dealer??
Is there any shop specialized in this original paint to order some cans??

Thanks a lot for your help!!

Re: DuPont paint

I've painted one bike and have the paint for the next. Got it from Antique Cycle Supply. The Olive Green I used on my 1932 looks good, same color as the original HD V model in the museum at York. That's why I went back when I needed Teak Red for my 1935.

Re: DuPont paint

If your asking does anyone use the original paint, like Dupont if the original was Dupont, probably not.

The original paints are long gone, technology has long passed them by. Matching the color? that's a differen't story. No one knows or cares who made the paint, as long as the color is mixed/matched right.

Call Lonnie at Antique Cycle Supply, he has the right 'mix' that makes the correct colors.
