AIM & Buzz

hey Buzz,

i was reading my latest issue of AIM, and i found out that i've been reading AIM longer then you have been there! i have the first issue of AIM still in the brown wrapper. the mag was sent to all hog members at the time, with hog tales, till it caught on. the rest is history. maybe i should list it on ebay, and see what it's worth!

great mag! keep up the good work!!

NaaaaH, Buzz is just the copy boy here at American Iron. He runs the mimeograph machine, gets coffee for us, carries boxes of magazines up three floors, and does gopher work.

My favorite bike rag, and the only one I subscribe to. Why? they cover Indians. Also great tech articles. I am no HD modern "lifestyle" fan, and like the coverage of other makes, older bikes, and some variety. Also no fan of all the Arlen Ness style choppers that are 12 feet long, and that is covered, but not to excess. Love the bobbers, and they cover them too. I realize there is a large audience with a variety of tastes. No complaints really, great rag.

Well thanks to all.

Actually American Iron Maagzine was started in 1989 by some of the guys who owned and ran Custom Chrome.

Within 2 years they realized magazine publishing was not as easy as they had thought and were losing a lot of money.

To make a long story short, I bought the two-year old American Iron Magazine in 1991 and moved it from California to Connecticut, where we still publish it.

Can't say it was ever easy publishing and growing American Iron Magazine, and we made a lot fo mistakes over theyears, but it has been a lot of fun and is somethign I am very proud to be associated with.

And I do occasionally bring coffee to the staff, but we tossed the mimeograph machine years ago.

Buzz, I think I speak for a lot of people when I say we're glad you did what you did. American Iron is the only magazine I read every month. Mostly for the classic stuff, but your tech articles are the best in the biz.
