I have Bing Crosby and Louis Armstrong singin' "Gone Fishin'." Great song.

Okay, so what came before vinyl?
Reason I ask, my Dad has something like 10,000-15,000 vintage records. I will someday inherit them and have to figure out what to do with them. They consume considerable space, and that's okay while they're still at HIS house!

If you build a good launcher they are great for skeet shooting. Plus it makes everybody elses collection that more valueable.

HAHAHA!! Oh my god, if my Dad heard that, he'd crap. There are some real dandies in his collection, some are quite valuable. They would've been a lot more before the digital era, seems to me, but the true 'vinyl guys' claim that the warmth and color of vinyl can not be duplicated.
Oh well....

Older records, the 78 and early 45's were made of Phenol (also used in the manufacture of Bakelite).
Vinyl came during the 33rpm days

Okay okay...! I just used "vinyl" as a slang term.
