| | | Interesting License Plate site http://www.licenseplates.tv/cat/usa_state_plates_1.html
I emailed the guy to see if he can make me a replica wa 1951. Don't know what kind of quality they are.
he does have a disclaimer that the plates he makes are collectables only, it would be weird if it ended up on the back of my bike. |

They will not drill any holes for mounting the so-called 'collectable plates'; maybe that's their legal loophole. They also have limited color selection, so you can count on repainting it front and back when you get it. I can give you the name of the guy that repainted mine, he's down in Oregon, and he's real fast. I think you saw what a fantastic job they did on my plate. If you need to know what a '51 looks like, I can tell you that it is identical to the '52 with the colors reversed; green letters on a white background. How would you decide on a number that isn't already registered? Have you met Maria yet???
I can feel pretty comfortable running the replica plate, because if I ever get into trouble, I figure I can go to court and show the judge that I own the original. If you get in trouble, you'll have to park your bike at my house forever, I'll hide it for you.

Micmac,
I've been to that site. Just type in the http://www.licenseplates.tv part. Navigate to the USA and the motorcycle plates from the home page. Hope this helps!
OOPS! It doesn't even work for me anymore. Nevermind!

There server may be down. Don't recall their location but might be due to one of the winter storms that have been hitting the U.S. With all the power outages that have been hitting lately one never knows.

They're internet site is back up. 'Was just a temporary outage, apparently.
The bad news for me was that they just couldn't make a copy of my 3 1/2 x 8 inch old-style New Jersey plate. Just an "odd size," they told me. Their replica plate is 4 x 8, and has a rim. The old prison-made New Jersey plates are just flat steel, and their replica plates are aluminum, with an embossed rim, no matter what state they're making.
I'm just a S.O.L. old biker, 'looks like. |

Lucky for me the 1952 WA motorcycle plate is............ oh, 4"x8" with an embossed rim. I looked long and hard, Sarge. I'm sure you've done a Google search, I sifted through a half-dozen sites to fine this one. There is another site that will do different sizes, but they do not emboss the letters, they use "3-D shadowing" (rolls eyes). Try them anyway, if you like: http://www.cr8apl8.com/

Thanx, Big! I sent the Mad Greek an email. Will let ya'll know what develops.
'Always knew that the People's Republik of New Jersey wuz a little eccentric. I mean, 3 1/2" by 8". Every other state's a standard size...
