Hey Buzz! More @#$%&*! SPAM

I have a notification that I have a private message. But when I click on "Your Notifications" to see it your bing SPAM covers it up.

Re: Hey Buzz! More @#$%&*! SPAM

If you're using Internet Explorer for your browser, you can enable the Pop-up Blocker. In the toolbar at the top of the page, click on Tools, scroll down to "Pop-up Blocker", then click "Turn On Pop-up Blocker". That might help with some of this crap.

When you go to eBay, you'll have to turn it back off in order to navigate the eBay website.

When I run a scan with AVG, it picks up over 100 'tracking cookies'--- usually not neccesarily a threat, just more of an invasion of anonymity. So I just delete them and start all over again.

Since you downloaded Zone Alarm, open it up, click on 'Privacy', and raise the slider bar to a higher level on 'Cookie Control' and 'Ad Blocking'. Just remember that if you can't navigate eBay, go back in and change it back.

You might also find that you have to log in more often.

I guess I'm lucky, or perfectly firewalled, or something. My boy is a computer-guy, and set me up, but I never see a bit of spam on this forum, so it can be done. Even "Banner ads" on th right is a blank rectangle to me. So don't give up!

How tactful. I've seen more civility in a rabid, nursing wolverine.

Is the "Recent Threads" block still there on the right for you? Notice the + or - sign--- I have the 'Banners" block, but simply pushing the - sign closes it, and no banner---- at least on the right side of the page.

Yeah, but when you see him in person, not so bad, no pups and just a touch of foam about the mouth

If you can determine the user that sent the SPAM via private message, I'd like to know who it was. I will instantly ban him from the premises for life. I hate, hate, hate SPAM -- but I gotta know about it to get rid of what very little SPAM still manages to get through. Thanks.

Re: Hey Buzz! More @#$%&*! SPAM

I'm using Firefox and Symantic anti-virus. I just logged in and looked at only 3 threads and got this and it wanted to redirect me to another page/website. Using taskmanger I closed Firefox.

I just re-opened Firefox, logged back in here and went directly to this thread.

Scan type: Realtime Protection Scan
Event: Virus Found!
Virus name: Bloodhound.Exploit.213
File: C:\Documents and Settings\AL\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\fja6cjnf.default\Cac he\38884929d01
Location: Quarantine
Computer: AL-LAPTOP
User: AL
Action taken: Quarantine succeeded : Access denied
Date found: Monday, July 06, 2009 7:34:39 PM

I looked at the threads:

Harley Week
1936 EL Harley Iron Butt Run
50th anniversary emblem

Hope this helps you figure out a problem
