Some motorcycles business, such as S&S, provide forums without SPAM. Others simply as for a small donation, which is far more acceptable that listening to a voice shouting "YOU ARE A WINNER" and having other advertising cover what you are trying to read. Don't feel bad Buzz. Keeping the not wanted out, is a never ending job. S&S's webmaster is always buzy booting them out. His job is a tough one. He is exceptionally good at it though. That is his job....keeping S&S websites clean and free of spammers etc.. He understands computer language and code. I'm a novice. I need to view it as I see it now. On the other hand, he can read the dots/dashes/numbers/symbols and letters, in any sequence they are programed. Wish I had his skill. Then again...he wishes he also had others folks skills. Paps

The Google AdSense ads are set up to supposedly be relevant to our interests. Unfortunately, Google hasn't mastered this aspect very well yet. I constantly battle the SPAMmers to keep them off of the site, and with other people's help and vigilance, I think I have done a pretty good job of things. We are doing our level best to keep the site from being a pay-as-you-go situation. The sites that do charge are welcome to. I think we have a very good system going here. As for ads covering up what you are trying to read, you need to turn on the pop-up blocker in your web browser.

Unfortunately the answer is to turn off the AdSense ads -- then there would be no SPAM at all. Actually AdSense isn't really SPAM either, but it is just not well executed by Google, and it is the only source for these ads people complain about. We control the rest, and they are our own ads, or ads provided by our advertisers within our company guidelines.

You can have your personal definition of SPAM, but to most folks, it's ANY kind of unwanted advertising that's forced on you- like those frikken' banner ads. Unfortunately, there are a lot of unscrupulous folks out there, and love to piggyback their crap on those ads. Do you really think Google is unaware of it? The almighty dollar seems to cancel out a lot of integrity- been to epay lately? I didn't even click on anything, and my laptop's toast, from this site- I've got no use whatsoever for those ads, and will never purposely never buy anything from them, will NOT support any company that tries to force-feed me stuff.

I like to think of banner ads and the like as being useful to our members. According to Google the ads are supposed to be relevant to our reader's interests. Unfortunately they frequently miss the mark, but when they are on, there is a lot of good resource information there. SPAM, on the other hand, is useless advertising for irrelevant items like purses, running shoes, on-line gambling sites, viagra, and all the other crap that is advertised these days. We try our level best to keep that out of this site. MeanGene, Chirs Haynes, and the other very vocal complainers have yet to give us a URL to their personal business sites so we can see for ourselves how the internet is supposed to be run. Put up or shut up! It is too easy for you to Monday morning quarterback.

I pay for it out of my pocket, with no write off, simply to give people free information.

Your site is full of valuable photos and documents, and I appreciate it.
