Howdy Jaydub,

Mid 50's are stout, what with The Wild Ones and all. Sorta like Tenn. m/c tags with their unique shape, you're now competing with non m/c enthusiasts for these. But, if you want credible vintage in a Buco jacket following the company sale in the mid 60's they started having these made in Spain. Lighter weight leather and unfortunately for most Americans - to which Hannibal Lector would refer to as "roomy" in proportion - they are tailored more to the Oleg Cassini ideal male physique. i.e., strong shoulder to waist taper. I bought this NOS with the tag hanging on it from Richard Watson at the Florida AMCA meet in 2016 for less than a 100 bucks. Admittedly it's rather large and market limited.

On the other hand, those bags are way out there for their configuration for which there are many and to aficionados some more rare than others. I rescued these from a house fire, trimmmed off the baked white plastic fringe, soaked them in leather conditioner in plastic bags under my work bench for 2 decades until the right machine to hang them on came along then new leather straps where required and new red reflectors from driveway markers sourced at Lowes...for 1/63rd the price.

Helmet to go with the jacket. You'll be all dolled up nicely to ride your old sled. I wonder if he ever sells any of this gear.

You guys in the US should gather up all your vintage jocks and socks that you were riding around with 30 years ago and wack it on Japan ebay. Be sure to be a market for it.

All my old jackets and a couple picked up along the way. The one in front is an NOS H-D Cycle Queen, only it is about a size XS womens. Cute but useless. My best Buco jacket came in a lot of parts and tools I bought. It was a real early diagonal closing type. It was way too small so I sold it to Yoshi (Garage Company) at one of the old Steamboat Springs vintage races. Next time I saw it was in Rin Tanaka's book on jackets. I should have kept it but as I said I couldn't use it and the sale paid for all the rest of the pile so hopefully it is in use somewhere.

Nice collection of jackets there Rubone. Do you actually wear all of them ? I got a couple of jackets but tend to only wear my favorite one. Like you I think, I kinda like em just hanging around being a bit of eye candy.

Yeah they be struggling to get $7k for those I think. I bought some nice Buco bags a while back for a tenth of that price much better looking and I still think I paid a bit too much. But I'll get over it... I always do.
